The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
became law on
March 23, 2010. Health
Insurance Benefit Exchanges are
mechanisms created by the Act to help individuals, families and small
businesses shop for health insurance coverage in a way that permits
easy comparison of available insurance plans based on price, benefits,
services and quality. The Health Benefits Exchange
Division is
federally funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Health
& Human Services.
